DAY 9: So tonight was movie night. Bollywood or Hollywood? I decided on Bollywood, and based on the driver’s recommendation, I went and saw Housefull 2 (poster in the middle above) which was in Hindi. I was afraid I would not understand what was going on, but I ended up doing pretty well and laughing my a$$ off. Reason? A combination of slap stick comedy, recognizing 1 out of 40 words (me being Persian and all), them speaking about 1/8th English throughout, and a good chuck of the movie dedicated to the singing and dancing which is stereotypical of Bollywood movies. Cost? About $5.20, and another $4.10 for coke + pop corn + 2 samosas. In addition to the traditional movie snacks, they also had a few interesting things like the fresh “Crazy Corn” stand you see in the picture, which for $0.80, was a much better deal than the aforementioned (yes, I tried it all, of course).
I would have done exactly the same i.e. chosen the Bollywood feature and eaten every food item that was offered for sale in the theatre lobby!
